Hội An, formerly known in the Western world as Faifoo, is a city of approximately 120,000 people in Vietnam’s Quảng Nam Province, registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. Along with the Cù Lao Cham archipelago, it is part of the Cù Lao Cham-Hội An Biosphere Reserve, designated in 2009. In 2023, Hội An was registered in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network list. Old Town Hội An, the city’s historic district, is recognized as a well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century, its buildings and street plan reflecting a blend of indigenous and foreign influences. Huế is a municipality in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam, located near the center of Vietnam. It contains a UNESCO-designated site, the Complex of Huế Monuments, which is a popular tourist attraction. Alongside its moat and thick stone walls the complex encompasses the Imperial City of Huế, with palaces and shrines; the Forbidden Purple City, once the emperor’s home; and a replica of the Royal Theater. Nearly 4.2 million visitors had visited the city in 2019 and many of its historic landmarks are still undergoing restoration.

Ho Chi Minh City is a popular tourist attraction which is known for rich history, narrow walkable alleys and bustling night life. The city’s geography is defined by rivers and canals, of which the largest is the Saigon River. Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), formerly known as Saigon became the Capital of South Vietnam following the 1954 partition Vietnam. The city was renamed in 1976 when it was captured by North Vietnam,  after their leader Ho Chi Minh. Although it is still often referred to as Saigon by the locals. In the early 1990s, the city underwent rapid expansion and modernization, which contributed to Vietnam’s post-war economic recovery.
